in addition to the mayor presiding over one of them, she did something that surprised just about everyone. we will have our report on that at 6:00. david collins, wbal tv-11 news. . authorities -- >> authorities were called to the crown plaza hotel three times overnight. the first time was for a fight that got out of control. just before 2:00 this morning, they were called back to the scene for a drug overdose. police say it was all happening at a large party. the final call at 3:00 was for a stabbing. the victim is expected to recover. >> an investigation under way in hartford county in a crash that claimed the life of a teenage driver. it happened just after 1:00 the morning. the 17-year-old lost control while trying to go around a curve and plowed into oncoming

traffic. he died at the hospital. the driver of the other vehicle was not injured. this is the seventh traffic- related death in hartford county in 2012. another accident on the inner loop of the belt way. authorities say around 3:30 this morning troopers pulled over a car. when the trooper return to his car, he was rear ended by another car. police believe that that driver fell asleep at the wheel. >> now and 11 news update. baltimore police have made two arrest and in connection with the brutal beating that happened downtown in broad daylight. police say one man was attacked by a group of men. he suffered skull fractures and was left in a medically- induced,. we have since learned that two men are behind bars, charged

before 11:30 last night when he lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic. he died hours later at the hospital. the other driver was not hurt. no word on the cause of the crash. the crown plaza hotel had three different police calls after a series of violent events on new year's eve. all the calls were stemming from incidents at the same party their. they all happened between one clot 45 and 3:00 in the morning. details are murky, but we now know of the dictum of the stabbing is expected to survive and the incidents are under investigation. same-sex couples in maryland have been signing the not all day. maryland is the first state to legalize same-sex marriage, and wedding bells have been ringing from churches to city hall.
